Landon Homes March into Literacy a Huge Success

At a recent Presentation Luncheon, hosted by Landon Homes in the Old Sebastian Point Model Home, volumes of books were given to the Early Learning Coalition of North Florida.  The goal of the project, Landon Homes March for Literacy, was to help the Early Learning Coalition of North Florida bring literacy to all children in the St. Augustine area.

According to the National Coalition for Literacy (NCL), roughly 93 million adults in the U.S. have basic and below-basic literacy skills. “For the children, I think owning their own brand new, book could help foster a love of reading,” said Marjorie Taylor of Landon Homes, “and that is a great start to improve the statistics in the future”.

Landon Homes St. Augustine Communities and assisting Local Real Estate Firms collected New and Gently Used pre-school books for children ages 0-5.  Helping with the project, Sunstate Realty, Olde Carriage Realty Downtown and the Beaches, Watson Realty At the Beach and US1 So., Century 21 St. Augustine Properties and Florida Homes Realty and Mortgage
